Vice President of Operations @ Baltimore Orioles
David Rovine joined the Orioles as Vice President of Orioles-Sarasota in February 2013 to oversee the club’s Sarasota business affairs and community development. In his new role, Rovine represents the Orioles in the Sarasota County community, furthering the club’s presence through Orioles REACH and its many community programs and establishing and cultivating club partnerships with business, civic, charitable and non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Sarasota County and Gulf Coast regions.
He currently serves on the Board of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Visit Sarasota County and is the former chair of the VSC Sports Committee. Soon after his arrival with the Orioles Rovine introduced the “Arts in the Ballpark” series that features an association with local arts organizations and unique family friendly entertainment presentations at Ed Smith Stadium.
A native of Baltimore and graduate of Towson (MD) University, Rovine has extensive experience in marketing and venue management. He spent seven years with SMG Entertainment, a worldwide entertainment and convention venue management company. In his roles as General Manager of the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg and the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois, Rovine was responsible for day-to-day operations, marketing and talent booking for these historic venues. Rovine’s experience also includes nearly nine years as Director of Marketing at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, where he oversaw advertising and promotion and was responsible for attracting and coordinating concerts and other non-racing events.
