Prepare for this year’s #stateofjobs conference
Join the Conference
2017 State of Jobs Conference on October 10th in Sarasota, Fl
Welcome to the #stateofjobs conference where you will have the opportunity to explore careers and prepare for college. Our goal is to help you prepare for your future while telling us what you're looking for in your college and career prep.
We have six tracks available this year including healthcare, information technology, business/entrepreneurship, manufacturing/engineering, hospitality/tourism, and arts/culture.
Over 100 Speakers
This year, we welcome many familiar faces from previous years plus welcome new speakers to the event. Every year we evaluate our speakers and bring the ones back that you’re most excited about on Twitter. Continue the conversation so we can continue to improve the event.
Technology for Learning
Throughout the conference, you will have an opportunity to engage with our group by answering questions via text messaging and traditional paper surveys. Our goal is to improve the quality of education in Sarasota and Manatee Counties while also improving your opportunities to succeed in college and careers.
The #stateofjobs conference brings together some of the area's top professionals.
#stateofjobs is a one day conference focused on delivering students a real conference experience in preparation of understanding their opportunities in college and careers.

The Manatee/Sarasota region has some of the most recognizable names in higher education. At State of Jobs, we like to showcase the amazing diversity and strength among our many institutions in this region. We will welcome nearly ten institutions to share about what makes their institutions unique and answer some questions from the audience.
What does it mean to be ready to enter the workforce. Whether it's after college or following high school, we want to discuss the importance of personal branding, personal responsibility, digital branding, and what it takes to be hired in a 21st Century job market.
SOJC Parent’s Night
We're excited to welcome Parents for an exciting night of learning about colleges and careers. We're invited the first 200 parents to join us for this year's SOJC Parent's Night at Robarts Arena. This program will include dinner and give you the opportunity to hear from 6 different keynote speakers (in a short amount of time) and spend time learning from the incredible higher education institutions we have in this community. You can register today at www.stateofjobs.org/parentsnight
Robarts Arena is home to many events including the Sarasota County Fair. This year, 15,000 sq ft will be filled with students learning about colleges and careers.

Our sponsors are amazing! We can't do this event without them.
Since starting State of Jobs in 2013, I've been amazed by how this community has come together to work with students and motivate them to understand, and prepare for the future. I can't wait to see how State of Jobs continues to make an impact in student's lives.
